The birthday surprise.

DSCN7108

Its Friday morning at the office and am trying to finish an assignment that Nicole had given me the day before. I want it to be done before the huddle and so am doing the best that I can. Everyone is busy doing what they are supposed to do, its ten thirty and Nicole offers to make tea for everyone J. I didn’t even notice that both Pauline and Joe had gone to the kitchen too!
So there I was seated behind the huge mac in the office seriously finishing my task and in walks Pauline with a very beautiful cake and a lit candle, the cake has my name on top and its also written from work mates!

(okay so maybe it was workmate but I was informed that it was actually supposed to be from “workmates”- bakers fault!) I felt like crying (I may have actually cried) …who would have thought!

They all in unison start singing happy birthday to me and am like oh my God, Nicole hands me a very beautiful birthday card and the message inside was very special. After I was done crying (Joe quite gleefully took pictures of this) I cut out portions for everyone then we sat down to have cake and tea. I must say though, I was quite against cutting it up at all! I just wanted to sit and stare at it all day long.

This was the best birthday surprise that I have ever had, it’s memorable.

It’s rare to have such kind of workmates and so I don’t take it for granted, am grateful.
