Africa’s broadcast, film and music industry has grown at an admirable rate over the past few years. And as you might be aware, the media and business industries are inseparable. This week, the Kuza Biashara team decided to step out of the office with one goal in mind – to cover this year’s Business & Technology Event at the Kenyatta International Conference Center in Nairobi.

What Was Discussed

Many things were discussed during the two-day event. Just to give you a quick preview; some of the features covered during this event include: Animation pavilion, Kenya film-makers pavilion and National pavilions for a range of countries (including Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya).

The conference was aimed at bringing senior and middle managers up to speed with the latest developments in the film industry. According to AITEC Africa’s official website, the annual event operated on the framework of enhancing capacity development among film makers mainly in Africa.

Some of the key topics covered during the event include:

  • Content production and protection of intellectual property
  • Distribution
  • The digital transition – Focusing on consumer issues
  • Media for social and political development

Among many other topics helpful topics.

Kuza Biashara Team On the Ground
