5 Things Every First-Time Business Owner Needs To Know

First-time1

Congratulations on the decision to become an entrepreneur. Indeed, you have made a wise decision and Kuza Biashara wishes you all the best in the bright life ahead. Here we have some five jewels of wisdom that we would like to share with you. If you follow them, we can guarantee you that your journey in business will be one decorated with success, prosperity and exponential growth. Stay Focused

You’ve heard people say that entrepreneurs are risk-takers and that they are good at spotting and grabbing new opportunities. Well, while may be true we would like to caution you against jumping onto each and every idea you come across. We would instead encourage you to inculcate a habit doing one thing at a time and doing it perfectly. It is rather unwise to juggle multiple ventures only to end up performing poorly in all.

Put into perspective – If you have decided to venture into Rabbit Farming, stick to Rabbit Farming no matter what else comes up. This may seem like being a bit rigid but you need to do it at least for now that you’re relatively new to the field of business.

Exercise your passion

Don’t venture into a business simply because it boasts large profit margins. Do what you love. Several studies have shown that businesses built around passion and talent often have greater chances of success. Simply put, if your heart isn’t into it, chances are that you’ll not be successful.

Don’t rush into a certain business simply because your friend is doing it. Likewise, don’t invest in a venture just because everyone is talking about it. There is a lot more to succeeding in business than just the hype and money.

Be prepared to learn new things

No one knows everything, so don’t be the next Mr. Know-it-all. From today onwards, surround yourself with advisors and mentors who will mould you to become a better businessman. Be sure to take some notes and keep them handy so you always have a reliable reference point every point of the way. Another thing, most successful entrepreneurs are avid readers. They read numerous articles and novels every day just to get up to speed with what is happening in today’s world. We would encourage you to develop this good habit (of reading) from the onset.

Take good care of your health

Fitness-BuzzleActually this is the most important tip of all the five. Well, entrepreneurship is a lifestyle; not a stingy profession. Working yourself to the point of exhaustion in the name of maximizing on profit will only burn you out. In fact, it will leave you less productive in the long-run. Know when it is time to rest, eat, spend time with family, go to church etc. All these things may seem unimportant but in the real sense they matter a lot.

Remember, you want to maintain a healthy body, mind and soul. Just as Kuza’s Senior Vice President Mr. Raj Karthi always advices us, learn to balance your activity. Don’t focus too much on making money to a point that you forget that you have a family to take care of. Likewise, don’t focus too much on family to a point that you forget you have money to make.

Plan MORE, Do MORE

Take ample time to plan before making any major decision. Develop a consultative approach to everything. If you’re not 100% sure about a decision you’re about to make, put it on hold for some time as you consult the gurus in your industry. Kuza Biashara has tons of resources to improve your planning skills. We have dozens of How-To Videos that you can watch at your own time. Besides that we have an aggressive Social Media team that is always ready help. Our goal here is to help you take your planning skills to a whole new level because we believe good planners are good implementers. As someone once said, “Plans don’t fail; It’s People who Fail to Plan.”

We have more tips lined up for you. Please tell us what you think about our new-look blog. Remember you can do this either by commenting below, or by posting on our Facebook or Twitter platforms.
