John Agyekum Kufuor at China meets Africa forum

Honourable former President of Ghana, Mr. John Kufuor, addressed the China Meets Africa forum organized by China European International Business School (CEIBS) held at Accra, Ghana between August 30 and 31, 2012.

Mr. Kufuor acknowledges CEIBS role as a powerful articulation for Africa’s development and considers it a ‘hallmark’ for the partnership between China and Africa. He believes that partnership between the two regions have been centred on bilateral trade and investment between Africa and China that further mutual economic growth besides the historical connections between the two regions for hundreds of years now. He emphasized on the need to have more technological development in the continent. According to him, this was the only way Africa could have the capacity to negotiate fairly on the world stage. He said, “We need institutions to tap into the entrepreneurial resources of small & medium enterprises this is to remove Africa from the sidelines.” He added SMEs from Africa and Entrepreneurship is the way forward to grow with education support.
