All work and no play makes Joe a dull child

Untitled-96

We have all heard the saying that work and no play makes Jack a dull child. All through my younger childhood years, I kept wondering who this Jack they talk about is. Well as the years went by, I got to know Jack is every one of us.
On one of the Saturday’s, I considered going to bed and sleeping the weekend off, but no a friend of mine called me and told me she was attending the Mingle event at Impala Grounds.

I had heard about the mingle before, it is a networking session for young professionals, but with a mix of fun. After a long week of hard work I considered my options and thought to myself, why not.

Arriving at the Impala Grounds, it was full of glamor and fashion. The place was just magical and perfect to wind down a week in style. The first game I went to was the one you get to be like Jesus for five minutes. The allegory of being like Jesus here means that you get to walk on water, technically. Am sure you are allwondering how this is possible, well how they do it is that you enter this giant sized balloon and air pumped inside it, and you are then pushed in a pool of water.

The thing floats, and the challenge here is to try and hold one position of either standing or siting, this is because the balloon keeps rolling and spinning giving you a roller coaster feeling. This is while the crowd waiting on queue cheers you on with a lot of excitement and eagerness for their turn to reach.

Other fun games included go cart racing, basketball, dance competitions, and one of my favorite stands being the playstation/Xbox area. Here all sorts of games were being played by real seasoned gamers, and I got to show them a trick or two at just how good I am at some selected games

The benefit to attending this was that I got to network a lot with young processionals from a variety of industries, and got to learn a lot, and share a lot too. At the end of it all, valuable lessons I got to learn here were that we all need some time off from it all, to just bring out the child in each one of us, and just have plain fun.
