Let’s face it brothers and sisters – most of us are lazy. When it comes to doing something relaxing and leisurely vs something we consider strenuous, our inclination is to always choose the path of least resistance.

But being lazy is not always a bad thing. It could be an indication that you like to do things a little differently from the norm. And that’s what makes you a good candidate of entrepreneurship. Here’s what you can do to lazily create the business of your dreams.

(1)Don’t try to do too much in one sitting

Don’t strain yourself trying to do multiple things at the same time. Set small goals and accomplish them on a day-by-day basis.

You see, what happens when you try to do too many things at the same time is that you end up burning yourself out and you can even stop working altogether.

So take on small tasks and follow them up until you’re satisfied that you’ve given your best to each project.

A simple list of to-do’s can help simplify your day

Taking breaks in between tasks can help reduce strain

Taking 30 minutes to 1 hour nap in the evening is also recommended

(2)Reward yourself often
Let’s take the example of a car. If you don’t re-fuel your car what will happen? What if you forget to take it to the mechanic for buffing and replacement of oil?

In pretty much the same way, if you want to keep your energy up you need to reward yourself after achieving every small milestone.

*Everyday, do something that excites and stimulates your mind

*Take a holiday once in a while

*Write down the achievements you’ve attained this far and give yourself a pat in the back

(3)Embrace modern technology and automate things

Modern technology is here to help simplify things. The problem is that most of us from 3rd world think that modern technology is all about engaging in social media debates with strangers. In reality though, there’s more to technology than just the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

*Take your business online so you work from anywhere even from your bedroom

*Automate some of the routine activities in your business e.g. if you want to record sales you can invest in a Point of Sale system

*You don’t have to walk from door to door promoting your merchandise either – use internet marketing skills such as Social Media Marketing to drive sales through a click of the mouse button.

(4)Who said you have work from 8 to 5pm?
You are your own boss and so you can have as much or as little involvement as you want with your business. If you’re comfortable working for 4 hours a day, then be ruthless about it.

If you only want to work with certain types of clients, only accept those and (gradually) ignore the nagging ones. Just remember:

*You have a right to live on your own terms

*You have a right to work on your pajamas

*You have a right to say NO when you mean NO

(5)The most important tip: Look FOR EASY MONEY

You don’t want to spend most of your time doing stuff that does not benefit you much. So analyze your profit margins to determine where most of your profits are coming from and focus your energies on the most profitable services or clients.

Don’t be afraid to move away from less profitable and problematic clients once you replace them with profitable ones.

*Look for easy money i.e. focus on products and services that simply require less effort while still providing tremendous client value.

Lesson Learnt

It might sound strange, but being lazy can help one to reconnect with their inner-self. However, you only benefit from laziness when you decide to get out there and face the world confidently.

Laziness, although hated by many, compels us to look for ways to accomplish more in less time and effort. This indirectly drives us to be more efficient.

It’s no wonder one of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, Bill Gates says “I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it”.

Now tell us, what are some of the most awesome advantages of being lazy? Can you think of any? Remember to leave your comment below.
