I Am proud..!

Untitled-188

Finally, almost two months (and everyone has been waiting for this blog), I had to actually pop in early to write it. So here it is now.I am proud of this blog post.
Walking to the podium to receive the award was a great moment for me leave out the flashy cameras, applause from the influential people in Kenya, being acknowledged for the great strides we are doing was a great moment for me.Reflecting back to when we started off, getting the application together to the actually compiling of the Kuza Biashara content, was hard work! We are winners and I am proud.

Kuza Biashara is now a exactly a year old, and in one year, we have been able to actually do a lot, Kuza biashara has been a winner since Day1. As I think through the birth of Kuza Biashara, I have been, a producer, casting agent, accountant, sales manager all in one. In a span of one month, we were able to make 100+ short videos all in SME trainings and gather SME videos and industry leaders videos speak at the same time.I don’t know where I got that energy, but right now as I think through I am proud of that work.

Since I met Sriram in September 2010, I remember very well, at the intercontinental. He asked me one question, How I feel about SMEs, it was a pretty hard question to answer. He then went on how we get SMEs to improve their businesses, get them to work more effectively and use on-line tools in their business, I just smiled. I have been trying to get my mum to start using a computer for 10 years now I just thought about all my family members who are in business. Would they welcome this idea? As long as I can remember I have been raised in a family of hardcore MSMEs. My great-grandfather, grandfather, my mother, my aunts and uncles (a typical Kikuyu business family if you get my drift), of which 80% would want to do business the way they are used to, so what Sriram wanted to accomplish was a heavy task, but I was in for the challenge.

Year 2 and we are still going on with the challenge, this time round the team is larger we have people in Mombasa, Kisumu, Kisii., mention a town and we will have someone in location. Its a huge team, we are all winners and I am proud.
