Is it Worth Golfing?

worth golfing

It’s a hard hit on me that the sport I really don’t fancy and enjoy watching is the most expensive. Owning a full kit can cost as high as KSh. 100,000. For you to register for a club membership you should be willing to part with KSh. 500,000. Golf is the game I am talking about and I am forced to mention Tiger Woods. His name sends a rush of adrenaline down my spine because I associate him with success and money. Continue reading

How Twitter can land you that dream job

Untitled-60

In the previous years, it was common to look for jobs in the ‘Wanted’ and ‘Jobs’ columns of newspapers and send your applications through mail via the local post office. However the turn-around time for receiving, processing, and acting on these applications was immense by today’s industry standards. These things have changed drastically with technology, and now job openings are being posted on the Internet, with dedicated job search sites cropping up with databased job categories. Email was (and still is) the primary medium used for this method. You will discover that this method is still the most popular and most common means of job search. Continue reading

A leaf from my Kenya diary

A leaf from my Kenya diary

When I was informed at a short notice that I would be going to Kenya, to work on a project, I had mixed feelings. On one hand, it would be the first time ever that I would be leaving home for so long. On the other hand, it was a great opportunity for me to travel to another continent, interact with Government officials in Kenya, and be exposed to a new way of life. Continue reading

Is Entrepreneurship training for you?

Untitled-63

Today in Kenya, for a person venturing into business, they most likely have some basic education of the related field. The education may be in the form of either college education or an equivalent of hands-on experience from working and interacting with the industry. These two forms of learning go hand in hand with each other where people with basic scholar education and work experience generally do well in business. A large percentage of Kenyan business persons who are in small enterprises would not have had the chance or the privilege of experiencing both, and thus, they would need something extra to bridge this gaping hole; they would need Entrepreneurship training. The last few days at Kuza HQ had been a bee-hive of activity, largely attributed to the many youth from diverse backgrounds coming in to give a message of inspiration and hope. We had an ongoing project between KuzaBiashara and a locally based editorial firm by the name of ‘footprints press’. We were very privileged to have with us Susan Githuku, the editor-in-chief for ‘The EDITION’, and make it possible to have these youth who were full of ideas to talk to us on camera. The best and worst of CES 2013

best and worst

As usual the event Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 featured some of the best and the most interesting things for gamers. We could see the introduction of Razor’s Edge, that was by far the most exciting gaming news out of CES 2013 yet. Razor’s Edge is one of the most powerful gaming computers, and this year went out all the way to produce a standalone tablet that doubles as a portable game console and a normal, fully functional Tablet computer. The accessories for the device and its adaptability to the gaming environment moved the crowd almost to tears in disbelief. Continue reading

Christmas spirit at KuzaBiashara HQ

Christmas spirit at KuzaBiashara

As a little kid, I used to hear of Santa Claus, and also see him in the movies and on TV shows where he would usually sneak up on roof tops and drop bags of presents inside chimneys of little kids’ homes. This often made me ponder why he never came to drop presents inside my chimney at Christmas time. Now that I am much older, I now know he is a fictional character, just like the Easter Bunny and Big Foot, created to compliment the season at hand. The thought of ever coming face to face with Santa never really occurred to me and I never imagined that something like this can actually happen – until the month of December 2012 when I saw, not one, but several Santas at KuzaBiashara HQ.
