Our very own Kuza Biashara has been nominated for the Vision 2030 Innovation award under the Education category. The Vision 2030 ICT Innovation awards, which are on their second year running, hopes to recognize and celebrate Kenyans, who have developed ICT solutions that drive economic growth and social development as outlined in Kenya Vision 2030.
The award will be held as part of the Connected Kenya Summit, a conference which aims to establish a platform for collaboration, capacity building and priority sharing between the government and the IT sector with a view of linking and hastening implementation of government IT projects to world class standards. It will explore and highlight how access to information can be harnessed to create a high-skilled, productive and innovative population. During the three day event Sriram Bharatam – Founder and Chief Mentor of Kuza Biashara will be a guest speaker discussing the concept of e-commerce for SMEs.
“The Kenya Vision 2030 Award is important for the industry,” says Paul Kukubo, CEO Kenya ICT Board. “It gives us a platform to celebrate entrepreneurs and promote their solutions to Kenyans. Recognizing start-ups and innovators is an essential part of growing the sector.”
The awards will cover two of the three key pillars of Vision 2030: Economic and Social pillar. The 13 categories are in Agriculture, Education and Training, Health Care Delivery, Water and Sanitation, Environment, Housing and Urbanization, Gender, Youth and Vulnerable groups. Others are Wholesale and Retail Trade, Manufacturing, Tourism, Social Equity, Business Process Outsourcing/Off shoring and Financial Services.
‘Knowledge and Beyond’ is the theme of this year’s event which will run from the April 2-5, 2012 and is being held in Diani, Mombasa.
