The National Aids Control Council (NACC) in collaboration with Kuza Biashara, The Council of Governors and Football Kenya federation among other partners have launched a campaign dubbed Maisha county league to kick stigma out of kenya. The campaign aims to leverage the power of football to reach young people. The campaign is also leveraging the revolutionary Kuza Biashara digital platform.

Speaking at the launch of the project in Kericho County, the NACC Director Dr. Ndiku Kilonzo said that the project dubbed The Maisha County League seeks to reach 10 million young people.

She said as much as progress has been made, the country still has a long way to go in kicking out HIV stigma.

Council of Governors Chair Mr. Peter Munya said ending stigma can significantly help in reducing infections among youth who according to official data bear the brunt of new infections.

“It is time we all say no to stigma that fuels new infections among youth” said Governor Munya.

Kamau Mugure, Channel Manager of Kuza Biashara, noted that tapping into the power of the Kuza Biashara digital platform would provide the countrywide campaign with leverage and scale to provide online Mentorship and support to at least 3 million young people on top of availing important HIV education to the target group.
