What is your purpose is life? That is a question that every person asks himself at some stage or the other. The problem is that most people walk through life without every finding it out.
We live in such times that make us believe that our purpose in life is to acquire power, acquire wealth, and to win everything we attempt. May be that is not your purpose. May be your purpose is completely different. May be it revolves around simply living life to the fullest? Not many even understand this and here is why:
You Depend Too Much on Others
Right from our childhood we are taught to give importance to socializing. It is a good thing until you start depending on relationships so much that you tune yourself to fit into the relationship. Many people may advise you with good purpose but more often than not there is a selfish intent behind the advice. Listening to someone else without listening to yourself will lead you to never understand yourself or your purpose.
You Can’t Stand Silence
We live in a world that prioritizes action. The value of silence is almost lost due to this. It is very important to value silence and learn to live with it. If you are not able to do that you will start listening to your ego and everything that it says to you. That is extremely dangerous. Make peace with silence so that you pause and think about your life and where you are headed. Ignore your ego and focus on yourself.
You Can’t Make Peace with your Dark Side
We all have a dark side and only when we make peace with it can we embrace our lives and ourselves. We all have selfish desires, faults, flaws, and failures that we can’t let others know of. If we worry too much about these problems and hate ourselves due to them we won’t be able to see success.
What is advisable is that you assess your dark side and use it as a means to assess where you went wrong, what your weaknesses are, and then use these weaknesses to be a better person; to improve. Don’t ever ignore your flaws. Use them.
Finding a purpose in life begins with accepting who you are and working on improving yourself.
You may be under the illusion that you know your purpose in life or you may think you are going on the right track. However, unless you understand yourself and accept yourself you won’t be able to do so. Listen to your inner voice, accept silence, and accept your flaws.
