Not many people embrace change. In fact, most people actually fight it and refuse to accept it. You don’t have to be in the same league. Whether it is in personal life or in professional life you have to accept the fact that changes are a part of life and changes will come whether you like them or not.
It is human nature to accept change only when there is a crisis or emergency. Only when we have no other option but to change, we change. Why? Why can’t we make an effort to make changes for the better before something bad happens? Remember that positive changes will always help you grow.
Think big, yes, but keep it real. There are many entrepreneurs who build impossible goals for themselves in a bid to think ‘big’. As a result they lead themselves to failure and that breeds disappointment and discouragement. Instead of putting yourself through so much, you should only set realistic goals for yourself. This will also help you work towards them because they won’t seem so daunting. You will, therefore, encourage yourself to make changes.
Sure there are plenty of changes for you to make. The pile is overwhelming, though, only if you make it overwhelming. Being unrealistic is one thing and overcomplicating things is another thing. Many entrepreneurs keep it real but they make things so complicated that everything gets messed up. Start small and simple. Start off with simple tasks so that you complete them one after the other and get in sync to solve the bigger tasks. You need momentum and that will come only when you keep things simple especially in the beginning.
Life is very distracting today. We have so many elements in life that getting distracted does not take more than a second. That is why it is very important to stay focused. It is advisable that you make a list of all the distractions and hindrances you are likely to face and then find solutions for each. You could take someone’s help to do this to make things easier.
Don’t try doing too much too soon. Small steps are better than big, unrealistic leaps that make you shun change away.
Changes need to be embraced and you have to get moving before it is too late. Start small and be realistic so that changes don’t scare you. Also, stay focused by eliminating plausible distractions one after the other.
