You can’t buy happiness. That is probably why it is the most difficult thing to achieve.

Most of us are unhappy because we tend to do a number of things that are not necessary, not needed, and not even worth your time and thought. Happiness is all about removing these things from your life.

Playing the Blame Game

You expect a number of things from your employees, vendors, and investors. Sometimes things get messed up and don’t happen according to those expectations. Instead of taking it in good stride you start blaming them for everything that irritates you. May be they were wrong but you should face the fact that even you had a role to play. Why did the employee make a mistake? You didn’t mentor him or her properly. Why were your expectations not met? You expected too much too soon.

Stop blaming others and step forward. Start taking responsibility. That will help you manage business better while making you a happy person.

Cutting a Person off when he is Talking

In communication there is barely anything that is as rude as interrupting the person who is talking. Not only does this show that you lack etiquette, it also shows that you were not listening. You have to listen to the person to understand him. You should never just think about what you want to say as he or she talks and then interrupt out of nowhere.

Focus and listen to the other person. Ask insightful questions about the same topic. This will make the speaker happy. When you realize that, you will be happy.

Trying to Show Off

Don’t be superficial. No one even cares about the kind of car you drive and the number of levels your home has. They may stare at the things in awe but all these things won’t make them like you. People who like you and get closer to you because of superficial things are only looking to use you. Genuine people will look at the type of person you are and then decide whether you are likeable.

Superficial closeness will hurt you. Genuine closeness will make you happy.

Clinging on to Something

When you are scared and worried, you generally hold onto everything that makes you unhappy. You think about things that you weren’t able to have and you feel depressed. Instead, you should let go all that and work towards achieving what you want to. That is the only way to be happier.

Of course, chances are that you won’t achieve what you worked towards but the fact that you tried so much will make you very happy.

Bossing and Dominating

Sure you are the boss but that doesn’t mean you go micromanaging, controlling, and dominating everyone. Controlling requires too much thought, pressure, authority, and force. All these feelings will only make you miserable.

Instead of forcing and controlling, find the people who want to do what you want to do and achieve the goal together. They will work hard without being told to do so and they will enjoy their work. That will make you happy.

Happiness comes from within. The moment you start depending on others for happiness, you are lost.

Entrepreneurial Learning

Happiness is not something that you can buy or demand. It is something that you should achieve from within. There are habits that hinder that and these include clinginess, interrupting, controlling, and blaming. Stop them and you will automatically be happy.
