The one thing that almost every entrepreneur struggles with is time.
Time and entrepreneurship don’t seem to go hand in hand. Entrepreneurs are usually seen struggling to make time mainly because they have too much to do. They work really hard to fulfill all their responsibilities and yet, they barely have time to manage everything. The main reason here is that they tend to overdo things and stress too much on one single thing. Remember that your position is a very strong one and you have to be very organized.
Easier said than done, may be, but these tips will definitely help you buy more time:
Meetings Shouldn’t Last Longer than Fifteen Minutes
There are leaders who conduct meetings at least for thirty minutes. More often than not, meetings don’t require that much time. Whatever you have to say or discuss can be covered in fifteen minutes unless, of course, the task is tedious and needs more discussion. As a ground rule you should try not exceeding the fifteen-minute span.
No Meetings on Mondays
Monday is the start of the week. Do you really want to start it off with meetings when you can focus on work? Mondays are when you should work because you are fresh from the weekend and you are highly productive. Monday is the day for high priority work and for nothing else.
Prioritize Important Things/Tasks
You may have a scheduled calendar that you religiously follow but it doesn’t always have to be like that. In fact, it is completely okay to change things in case you have something more important to do. To manage everything, you may need to outsource but again, that is completely okay. You should trust others where needed so that they handle some of your work.
When you have to work, you HAVE TO WORK. That means that you should stay away from emails, chats, Instagram, social media sites, and so on. You should completely and utterly focus on your work. Shut off the Internet on your phone and laptop all together if possible and you will be able to focus on your work like never before.
In four simple steps you can save plenty of time!
Time management doesn’t have to be hard for an entrepreneur. It is all about focusing and prioritizing important tasks so that smaller things don’t distract you.
