Settle for nothing short of the best.
Entrepreneurship is hard, there is no denying that, but sadly we make things worse for ourselves with our carelessness. One of the biggest mistakes that many entrepreneurs commit is the fact that they settle for good and don’t aim for the best.
There are three aspects of entrepreneurship in which ‘good’ is simply not acceptable.
Whether you are offering products or services you should aim at offering nothing short of the best. In your niche, you have to be at the top. Why would customers settle for something just ‘good’ when there are other businesses that offer the best? Ask yourself if what you are offering is the best. If the answer is negative you should ask yourself why and then improve accordingly.
Here you should know that you could only offer the best when you hire the best. That leads us to the second aspect.
If you thought the best employees only went to large businesses, you should think again. There are plenty of SMEs that have excellent and outstanding employees. Just because you are a startup does not mean that you have to settle with just average employees. Every time you hire you should ask yourself if you are indeed hiring the best for that position.
Settling for good will be like compromising on the quality of the entire job description. Of course you might have to work harder to find the best but it is always worth that extra effort.
Believe it or not but the culture in most large businesses is pure hokum. This is something you could use to your advantage. The culture in your company should be A-grade and excellent.
Ace these three aspects and your SME will boom!
As a business owner you have to ensure that you are the best at three things: offerings, employees, and your culture. These three aspects will determine your growth and the success of the company.
