If you have no haters, you are doing something wrong.
It is true that every successful person or business has haters. You can’t have universal popularity or acceptance. The only thing you can do is to accept that you will have haters. After that, you should work to ensure that the number of haters does not increase and surpass the number of followers or fans. How?
Think about the haters for a moment. What would spur them? An argument. Haters will use social media platforms and other popular means to get to you, badmouth you, and to provoke you into an argument. Some entrepreneurs can’t handle this and they end up arguing back. This ruins their reputation and the number of haters easily increases. Other entrepreneurs know better than them. They choose to ignore haters. They think they are doing the right thing but even ignoring haters is not the answer.
The best thing to do is to talk to your haters, engage in their conversation, and respect them. Yes, treating your haters nicely is the best way to catch them off guard and to disarm them. No matter what they say, come up with a positive response and be very polite. They will be mildly surprised at your reply and things will automatically tick in your favor. For example, if someone says you are good for nothing, just reply accepting it and asking what you can do to change that. Imagine the surprise [and even shock] that will cause!
Remember that more often than not haters want to get into the limelight. That is the main reason why they cause so much distress. Treat them well and you never know, they might turn into your followers or fans. Don’t tackle hatred with hatred. Tackle it with respect and see how that spins magic for you!
Every successful person has haters. The number of haters you have should not bother you. How you tackle them should be your concern. Be nice and be respectful. Don’t turn against them or start arguing. Don’t ignore them either. Take the high road and respect their opinion. That will disarm them.
