What to Do When Everything Seems to Fall Apart?

Everyday is not a Sunday.

In life and in business, change is the only constant. You will have great days and you will have bad days. While it is easy to stay upbeat on good days, staying optimistic when things seem to slip out of control, when you lose clients, when things don’t get done, and when your team is not able to meet deadlines is nothing short of a Herculean Task.

You should understand that in the midst of all this chaos, where everything seems to be out of your reach and control, there is one thing that can set things right by changing your outlook. That one thing is attitude. We all face difficulties in life. Those who manage to tackle those difficulties with a positive attitude are the ones that succeed.

Your attitude plays a huge role not just in your outlooks of life but also in several different aspects. For example, people who are positive and energetic draw more attention. Positive people are also healthier because they don’t take too much stress. Thus, simply by changing your attitude you can control things and bad situations so that the results are better.

Here are three ways to do so:

Change your Thoughts

Thoughts such as “This won’t work” and “I don’t think I can do it” are damaging to say the least. You have to believe in yourself and the sad part is that not many actually do so. To change your thoughts you may pick one negative thought that bothers you constantly such as the thought that you work too much for nothing or the thought that you never are able to take breaks, and so on. Now make a list of reasons why your thought is wrong. When you do this exercise you will understand that your attitude towards a particular thing is based on your thoughts ONLY and NOT on reality. That understanding will change your thoughts. You will believe in yourself and you will try instead of thinking that you simply can’t do anything about something.

Change your Outlook of Everyone

There are people – most leaders – who look only for negatives in people and in themselves. They criticize people even for the smallest errors and are always negative. Instead of doing that, you should focus on the rights and positives of the situation or the person. The reason why this is important is that if you focus on the fact that a particular person does not cooperate with you, you will think only about that trait and forget about other positives that he or she may possess. Focus on a trait that you like and your outlook will definitely change, making you a positive person.

Change your Comments

There are times when you can’t escape giving a negative comment. However, HOW you deliver it is more important than what you say. Talk about positive aspects instead of saying negative stuff all the time. For example, if your day is bad you are advised not to comment on it. Instead, ask the other person how their day was until the moment.

Regular practice will sun away negative thoughts and that will bring a huge change in your attitude.

Entrepreneurial Learning

In times of trial and strife your attitude towards life and people is very important. Bring changes in your outlook, comments, and thoughts so that your overall attitude improves and your perception during bad times is positive enough to see you through the problem.
