Signs that show you are busier than you should be

Successful EntrepreneursWe are all busy with our respective lives. In fact, successful entrepreneurs have repeatedly said that we should be busy in order to make the most out of our fast changing world. However, some of us are a little too busy.

Being busy is good but being too busy causes suffering. You wreck your life by not balancing your tasks and that leads to dire consequences. Broken relationships and bad health are just two of them. So, before it is too late, let’s help you identify signs that indicate you are busier than you should be:

You can’t even remember when you last spent time with your family

When was the last time you went out for dinner with your family or spent the weekend with your kids? If you really have to think about it, you haven’t given them the time they deserve. You may be putting in 12 or 14 hours of work per day and that’s okay for a short period of time. It if continues though, your relationship can be destroyed.

Try having dinner with your family at least every alternate day or three days per week. Schedule your work accordingly if need be. This is what successful entrepreneurs do.

You are not mentally present

Does your mind wander to some place else while doing something totally different? For example, is your mind on business strategy when it should really be focusing on what you are eating right now? Well, being too busy can do this to you. You will be physically present but the busyness can cause you to never be there mentally.

The best way to prevent this is to go for mindfulness meditation. Doing it regularly will help you be aware of what’s going on.

You are exhausted almost all the time – burned out

Being tired is one thing. We all get tired after a day’s work. Being burned out is the real red flag here. If you feel exhausted and completely deflated, if even simple tasks make you feel strained because you have no energy left, you are too busy. This will definitely not help increase productivity in any way.

Make sure you take at least some time out each day for other activities such as reading, listening to music, and relaxing. Your mind needs rest, as does your body.

You dread taking vacations

People love the thought of taking time off. If you feel otherwise, you are too busy. The thought of taking a vacation shouldn’t fill you with dread about all the work you’ll have to do once you are back! Believe us, taking time out is not wasting time. In fact, it will help driving profitability. If it is too tough for you, we suggest you take one step at a time. Try starting with 5 minutes every day when you do absolutely nothing.

If you can relate with these signs, you need to make some drastic changes immediately.

Entrepreneurial Learning

Successful entrepreneurs are busy all the time. They are not too busy, though. They know how to balance work and life. They know that personal life and time for themselves is just as important. Thus, they take vacations and spend time with family regularly.
