Behaviors that seem negative but are healthy

Experts have always said that being authentic is the healthiest. Being true to who you are and being natural helps you with business communication as well as personal growth. However, there are many who tell us off for behaviors that make us who we are. While some behaviors may really be toxic, there are some others that are healthy. These are usually considered negative but a closer look will tell you that they are important to improve business leadership skills. Let’s take a look:


Anger has always been termed as destructive and a hindrance to driving profitability. A short-tempered person or someone who expresses his anger is often considered negative and unpredictable. That’s not really the truth. When you choose not to express yourself, you do more damage. Anger is emotional energy, which needs to come out. The only thing you should do is to channel the energy wisely. Express your anger in such a way that it has a positive outcome.

Remember that suppressing anger often leads to depression, rage, and other such problems.


Crying is not a sign of weakness. It shows that you are capable of expressing your pain. Crying is, in fact, considered very healthy because it helps you let go. When we cry, we release energy that could destroy us otherwise. Crying also shows that you are soft. You come across as caring and a person who genuinely cares.

Of course, crying for every silly reason is not the way to go. When the emotions flow, let them. It will help.

Being alone

Loneliness is not always negative. It can just mean that you want to spend time with yourself and not socialize. Yes, isolating yourself at times can be a sign of trouble or danger but cutting yourself off at times is just fine. It will give you a reason to start thinking about yourself and understanding how life is going. If your mind wants to be alone, go for it. It may help you gather your thoughts and increase productivity. However, if you get this feeling too many times, you might want to seek help or assistance.

Not fitting in the crowd

Being unique is not a bad thing. It only means that you are doing things differently and that’s great. You may hate the feeling, though, because you feel alone and weird. It can also be awkward for you. However, not fitting in the crowd shows that you dare to think differently. This is a sign that you have an innovative mind and that’s amazing. Do not try so hard to fit in that you lose yourself.
Embrace who you are despite what others say. Your anger, your emotions, and your uniqueness make you special.

We are often told off for a few behaviors such as anger and being sensitive because they can affect our business communication. However, when used right, these behaviors can bring the best out of us. Using these positively will help you grow. Too much of any of them is, of course, bad.
