Our minds are hyperactive. They lead us into believing different things and expecting too much. This can in turn be damaging. Thus, getting rid of the lies as soon as possible is highly recommended:
Perfection and Nothing Short of It
If you have to be perfect and if you settle for nothing less, you are actually hindering your growth. Perfection, even if achievable, is not healthy because it doesn’t let you make mistakes. The aim should be to do things well. Only then you will start driving profitability.
I’m Too Old (or Too Young) for This
Age is never a limitation. Age is just a number. You cannot use it as an excuse to avoid something. Remember that Nelson Mandela was 76 years old when he became the president of South Africa. Likewise, you are never too young to start running a business. The right time in NOW.
My Life Is The Hardest
Truth is that we all have our baggage. You just don’t know what another person is going through. That is why it is wrong to judge or even think that you have it the hardest. Every challenge brings with it a lesson. These lessons help us grow.
Go Where The Heart Leads You
Following your heart is not wrong until it overrides your intelligence. You must speak to your heart as well as your mind while making a decision. Also, some decisions need only your mind and not your heart at all. Many successful entrepreneurs will vouch for that.
I Will Just Ignore This
Successful entrepreneurs don’t ignore things they find difficult. They don’t avoid something in the hope that it will disappear. They face challenges and hard truths alike. Remember that the more you avoid something, the worse it will get.
If you are looking to increase productivity, you are advised to stop speaking these lies to yourself.
Successful entrepreneurs are realistic. They know how to ignore the many lies we tell ourselves to feel better. These lies hinder our growth and impede our success. That is why we should move on and face reality.
