Your workplace has to be productive despite the day-to-day challenges. You can’t expect that to happen on its own. It is up to you to ensure that the productivity stays up even when there are too many challenges surrounding you.
No, there is no need to get worried. You can easily accomplish that. You just need to learn a few tactics for the workplace and you will be able to do lots.
Less is More
Do you think working for long hours will increase the outcome? I respectfully disagree. May be forty hours a week will make you productive for the first couple of weeks but don’t expect that productivity to stay up there. The graph will soon hit a reef. To ensure that you and your employees are not burned out, you should work for fewer hours and make sure that these hours are productive.
Tackle the Bully
When you see a bully trying to overwhelm you or any of your employees, don’t snap. Also, don’t just give in. Take the middle road. Be professional and tell them that you’ll deal with them when they are calmer. Just walk away after that. You don’t have to yell or placate.
Don’t Keep up with Liars
Oh, they are everywhere! But don’t you, for even a moment, think that you can catch them. Liars today don’t avoid your gaze. Liars today are smarter. Don’t be under the impression that everyone who avoids your gaze is lying. You will ruin relationships if you do that. Instead, look for signs that say that the person has rehearsed his speech. Also, if the person says he/she is saying the truth over and over, he/she is lying.
Write Emails Smartly
When I ask you to write emails smartly, I mean that you should write them in the backwards order. Instead of putting off your decision for the last, start your email with that. Move on to the explanation and then ask of the decision you expect. After all that, advance to the Subject line and put down the subject. Easy!
There you are! Keep these secrets in mind and see how well you start performing at your workplace. You will see the difference yourself in a few days.
Better productivity needs strategic planning and the help of a few good shortcuts. Writing emails better, working efficiently in a shorter span of time, tackling bullies & liars are just some such shortcuts. Incorporate them in your daily life and you will see the difference soon!
