Mr.Tejpal is an ICT entrepreneur with over 14 years of experience in the ICT business. His educational qualifications include a degree in Business Studies from the University of Wales and an MBA from Leicester University, UK. He started his career in Kenya as the Director of the family’s textile firm, Bedi Fabrics (www.bedi.com).
He went on to join the Telecommunications Sector by starting an ISP (Internet Service Provider) business called Interconnect (Iconnect) in 1997 which then merged with Internet Solutions South Africa in 2007. Together they formed “Internet Solutions Kenya”. This transformed the “start-up” to a global player in the industry. He has been responsible for the strategic growth and direction of the company since its inception. (www.is.co.ke)
Early 2010 he stepped down as the CEO of Internet Solutions East Africa to take up this position on a full time basis.
Mr. Tejpal Bedi was appointed as a council member for Karatina University by the Minister of Higher education.
Mr.Tejpal is also the chairman of Kenya Information Technology and Outsourcing Services (KITOS) which was established under Cap 108 Laws of Kenya. KITOS is a private sector association developing and promoting the use of industry-wide standards to improve BPO and ITES as a management practice, profession and industry in Kenya. He helps in providing policies and direction within the industry and government.
