Pivot East is this year’s edition of the region’s premier developer competition was held in 2011 successfully by the name Pivot25.On 5th and 6th June 2012 at the Ole Sereni Hotel, it will culminate in a pitching conference. There are five categories in this competition (financial services, entertainment, utilities, business and resource management and mobile society, each with five finalists pitching to a rich audience of investors, development partners, telecom operators and other industry players from East Africa and across the globe.
In the applications and services submitted in each category; financial service should improve efficiency, service accessibility and the effectiveness of the financial sector in East Africa and globally. Business and Resource management it should offer technological opportunities to large and small enterprises in the process of innovation that leads to efficient management of their resources. Utilities should aim to reinforce the versatility and usability of mobile device. Entertainment in this category it should provide innovative ways of delivering the value of entertainment to the increasingly populations of East Africa and globally. Lastly, the Mobile Society should represent new socially and economically relevant ways of improving livehoods and productivity for people, who are globally and in East Africa.
